• Psychotherapy is the cornerstone of successful mental health treatment. Whether you are going through the toughest emotional challenge of your life, struggling to cope with longstanding mental health problems, or seeking to understand yourself on a deeper level, psychotherapy can provide unique opportunities for you to make meaningful and helpful discoveries about you and the life you live.

Psychological dynamics that reside outside of conscious awareness play a significant role in people’s everyday experience, from joyous triumphs to darkest moments. The nature of these unconscious dynamics are inherently elusive because of their association with painful experiences, starting from the earliest moments of life. The lasting legacy of adversity and its manifestation in various forms of suffering can leave people feeling helpless and hopeless, especially when adaptations people turn to in the face of pain can cause further suffering down the road.

No one should have to suffer pain alone, and having the support of a safe, objective, and caring professional can open your mind to important psychological insights that are otherwise tough to come by.

I value a collaborative psychotherapy approach, joining my expertise in psychology with your expertise in you. The psychotherapy relationship we cultivate together can become the vehicle for supporting the changes you want to see in your life. Throughout your therapy, we will work together to focus in on you and your unique psychological experience with the aim of heightening the way you understand yourself. Enhancing your self-awareness and connection with deep-seated emotions through psychotherapy can give you a greater sense of control and ease in navigating the unique and complex challenges you face.

  • Adolescence is a period of life filled with important developmental changes, and the process of establishing a discrete, meaningful, and congruent personal identity can be obstructed by various life challenges. Factors like social and academic pressure, family conflict, trauma, developmental differences, substance use, and psychological disturbances can deeply influence the way people navigate this stage. Major life adjustments can be disorienting, and there are a number of biological, psychological, and social components that can create added layers of confusion during this phase of development. Now is an important time to intervene and support the positive growth of your child by providing them with a professional and unbiased outlet to process underlying thoughts and feelings that impact their emotional, behavioral, and cognitive functioning. Psychotherapy can play a critical role in priming their psychological growth for the next chapters of life and enhancing their present sense of wellbeing and fulfillment.

  • Relationships are fundamental to our humanity, and when people merge their lives together, there are layers of complexity that can prove difficult to navigate. The powerful relationship dynamics that bring people together can also stir up difficult feelings that affect their manner of connecting. The vulnerability of sharing life with another can elicit unresolved conflicts from earlier life experiences. Each partner’s unique background naturally influences how they share intimacy, and building mutual insight into patterns of relating can strengthen the relationship. Communicating openly in a safe space about partner dynamics can increase closeness and positively impact the way that couples navigate challenges and continue to grow together. Whether you are dealing with acute relationship distress, at an impasse, struggling with communication, or looking to establish a deeper connection, couple therapy can be a valuable resource in supporting your partnership.

  • In addition to in-person psychotherapy sessions, I offer remote telehealth sessions as well, which allows you to attend your sessions from the comfort of your own home. I am able to provide telehealth treatment to California residents via Doxy.me, a confidential HIPAA-compliant telehealth videoconferencing platform. For individuals who are interested in telehealth therapy, initial sessions are still conducted in-person at my office so that I can properly assess the suitability of telehealth treatment for addressing your specific presenting concerns. However, to assure mutual health safety and treatment access, when public health crises such as COVID-19 prohibit in-person contact, your initial sessions are subject to being conducted over telehealth. All you will need is a private room to assure confidentiality on your end, as well as a reliable broadband internet connection.
